GAWBA CONTINUES THE LOVE, GRANDMA LETTERS PROJECT
Love, Grandma: Activists Write, letters and poetry drawn from the memories of women and men, was published in November 2007. In response to an invitation from Grandmothers Against War,
contributions came from all over the United States and abroad. In Love, Grandma, writers share their thoughts and experiences with young people and describe events that shaped their
philosophies and participation in movements for peace and social justice.

GAWBA CONTINUES TO ACCEPT LETTERS AND POETRY
for possible distribution, according to the procedures below.
GUIDELINES AND AGREEMENTS FOR LETTER-WRITING:
- Length can range from 200 to 1,000 words.
- Addressee can be an actual or imagined young person.
- Letters should focus on an actual occurrence, an action or learning experience the writer has seen or done or not done (or perhaps wished to have done); something that has shaped the writer’s
ideas or actions in furthering peace and/or social justice.
- Contributors must include name and all contact information (email, snail mail, telephone). No anonymous letters will be accepted, but the writer’s name will be withheld if requested.
- Letters will be edited solely for clarity and brevity (under 1,000 words, cutting repetition). No substantive changes will be made without consulting the writer.
- Submitting a letter to the Love, Grandma Letters Project constitutes permission for the Project to publish the letter in any format — newspapers, email, blog, printed book, sound recording,
website, or eBook. This is, of course, a non-exclusive right; the main purpose of the project is for writers to disseminate their own letters in every way possible.
- The Love, Grandma Letters Project will bear only its own costs of printing, distribution, and website fees involved in distributing the letters. In the unlikely event that the Project earns a
profit, that money will be donated to peace organizations.
